For those of you who are inclined to join us in preson, please be prepared for several changes in the “normal” Sunday routine and to be aware of the following health and safety policies. These are to assure that we are both in compliance with county health and safety regulations and to do everything we can to limit the possibility of exposure and transmission of COVID-19 or any other contagion.
Hours and Service length. We are going to be limiting the hours that the church is accessible to you. We will open the doors at 10:00 A.M. We ask that you do not gather or intermingle before the service, but rather find your seat and wait for the service to begin at 10:15 A.M. Please maintain a social distance of 6 feet or more from those attendees who are not in your household. We are going to do our best to keep the service to 60 minutes. At the end of the service, we ask that you leave in an orderly manner, by row, and expect you to exit the building by 11:30 A.M. Once outside, feel free to engage with one another as you go to your cars, while continuing to maintain social distancing guidelines.
The Narthex and Great Hall will not be available for gathering. We will not be serving coffee, cookies, or food after the service for the foreseeable future. If you need something to drink, you may bring a sealed water bottle into the sanctuary.
We are limited to gatherings of 25 people or fewer. In the event we have additional attendees, an overflow gathering will be held in the lower level, where you can enter the building separately and watch a live stream of the service with others on the big screen.
Face coverings will be required for all those 3 years and older, except for those with medical issues. This is the most effective way we can limit the spread of any unwanted infection. I know it is not the most comfortable, but as a measure to protect our most vulnerable, please comply out of deference to your brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember, “whatever you do for the least of these you do to me” (Matthew 25:40).
We will have multiple hand sanitizing stations around the building and encourage you to use them.
Please keep your greetings and well wishes to verbal displays, i.e. no handshaking, hugs, or holy kisses (1 Corinthians 16:20) until we enter another phase of reopening.
We will not be passing out bulletins, the offering plates, or communion elements as we have in the past. All the service information will be displayed on the overhead screen. We will have a collection box in the rear of the sanctuary for you to place your tithe (or you can continue to use the drop slot under the office window or use the U.S. Mail). On Sundays when we share the Lord’s Supper, individual servings of a wafer and juice will be available for you to pick up upon entering. Take your elements and find your seat. Place the empty container in the provided trash receptacle as you leave the sanctuary.
Hearing assistance devices will be available on a table in the Narthex. Please return them to the table by the users. They will be sanitized prior to each use.
For the time being, Rivercrest Community Church will not be organizing or providing transportation to and from services.
The building will be cleaned and sanitized by a group of volunteers after every use. Special attention will be made to high contact and high traffic areas. If you are willing to help with this important task, please contact the church office.
If you feel ill, exhibit any symptoms including but not limited to fever, shortness of breath, cough, chills, muscle pain, and loss of taste or smell, or believe you have been in the proximity of someone who is ill, for all of our sakes, please stay home and watch the video stream at http://facebook.com/Rivercrestcc/videos
